iJobs Featured on Pittsburgh's Techno Granny Show

The live interview explored how iJobs marries technology with the human touch to help jobshoppers connect with career and employment options while helping employers build more competitive staffing resources

Pittsburgh, PA, November 10, 2008:  iJobs project manager Kevin Gibbs was interviewed by Joanne Quinn-Smith, host of Pittsburgh's Techno Granny Show.  Mr. Gibbs spoke of his career and working on various projects at iJobs.  The 30-minute live interview aired from 7am-7:30am.

The show included a lively discussion about jobs, careers, the economy and iJobs' strategic vision for making a positive contribution to jobshoppers and the businesses that will employ them. 

"It was a little early in the day--and week--for me!" Says Kevin Gibbs.  "But I had a great time.  Joanne was very easy to talk with and I recalled things in the course of the conversation that I'd not thought about for a long while."

The interview included discussions on how iJobs works--how it uses both online resources and personal interactions with jobshoppers and businesses to help create hiring connections.  Ms. Quinn-Smith explored how iJobs applies its websites and local events to deliver services.  She and Mr. Gibbs also reviewed how community-based organizations and local career/employment experts can collaborate with iJobs in the process.

"Joanne is a very good interviewer," adds Mr. Gibbs.  "I was impressed with her capacity to get to the core issues and bring the reasons why (and how) things work to her audience.  She can really break complicated issues and 'techno-spoken jargon' into easier to understand plain language.  I know what we do.  And I know how we do it, but sometimes I'm not good at explaining it.  Joanne really helped me communicate with her audience.  And she did that even before I had my morning coffee!"
